This large, unattractive building on a key Christchurch site had been converted in the 1980s into offices and flats. The owner sold it to us in September 2014, after Christchurch Council granted approval for the building to be demolished and rebuilt as 12 apartments.
The Council were pleased to see this ‘eyesore’ removed and replaced with an eye-catching piece of modern architecture. The new four-storey building, designed by Aspire Architects, features the best of modern design.A spokesperson says that the design will “give an unattractive corner site a real boost to the eye and something everyone can appreciate while waiting at the traffic lights.”
The luxurious two-bed penthouse has great views in all directions: including the occasional glimpse of a cruise ship heading out into the English Channel. Our building contractors, Glossbrooks, will have the project successfully completed by the end of November 2015 - on target and in budget. And with most of the new homes sold off plan, there should be ten happy new residents in the Abbotts for Christmas.
